Coming Back to Love
The Mystical Heart with the Crack in the Skull
“Come back to love, my dear, come back to love!”
We invite you to a 12-day psychedelic retreat designed to guide you in returning to love — a journey back to our most essential root. Here, in a safe and supportive container, we’ll explore the visceral experience of love: how it feels, how the body responds, and how, given the right environment, love can flourish again like the branches, leaves, and crown of a deeply rooted tree. This retreat offers a powerful reorientation, bringing life into alignment with the heart's truth. The Core inquiry is about getting into the right relationship.
Pillars of the Journey
At the heart of this experience is Wachuma (San Pedro), a sacred Andean medicine known for its ability to open the heart and facilitate deep personal insight. Alongside the plant medicine, we’ll engage in meditative therapies that integrate Eastern wisdom, Andean and eastern shamanism, psychology, and philosophy. These practices are carefully chosen to help you access and nurture profound inner knowing and clarity.
Nestled within the serene Mountain House Retreat, this journey invites you to open to life with a renewed sense of wonder. Here, we will shed judgments, lean into life’s full splendor, and reconnect with our truest selves. Through immersive experiences and the sacred setting, we’ll awaken from mechanical existence and reconnect with our authentic nature.
The Temple of the Moon
The Temple complex offers a profound ceremonial journey that mirrors our transformative process. Beginning at the ancient Frog Temple for purification, we move through the Temple of the Moon - a sacred cave sanctuary where moonlight illuminates ancient stone carvings of the serpent, condor, and puma. These symbols represent the three worlds of Incan cosmology: Hanan Pacha (upper world), Kay Pacha (middle world), and Ukju Pacha (lower world).
Our journey culminates at the impressive San Pedro Temple, where a monolithic phallic structure rises from the earth, creating a perfect balance with the feminine moon energies. This unique arrangement of sacred spaces creates an ideal container for our work with the Huachuma medicine. The temple complex's connection to Qapac Ñan (the ancient Incan road network) and its proximity to other sacred sites like Sacsayhuaman adds to its spiritual significance. Here, the ancient wisdom encoded in stone meets our modern quest for healing and transformation.
The Significance of Nowruz and Its Connection to Our Retreat
Nowruz, meaning "new day" in Persian, is a centuries-old celebration that welcomes spring and the renewal of life. Rooted in the cultural traditions of Iran and Central Asia, it embodies rebirth, the triumph of light over darkness, and the chance to reflect, release, and set intentions for the year ahead. While our retreat unfolds in the heart of Peru, far from the traditional festivities of Nowruz, its essence—a universal call to embrace transformation—resonates deeply with our purpose here.
At its core, Nowruz is about reconnecting with nature’s rhythms and honoring the potential for new beginnings. These themes mirror the heart of our retreat, where we invite you to step into your own “new day” through sacred plant medicine ceremonies, meditative practices, and the profound energy of Andean landscapes. Just as Nowruz celebrates the balance of light and dark, our journey together offers a space to shed the old, nurture the spirit, and plant seeds for personal growth.
This retreat weaves the timeless spirit of Nowruz with the rich traditions of the Andes, creating a unique fusion that honors both. From the Persian reverence for spring’s renewal to the Andean devotion to Pachamama, we celebrate the shared human longing to return to love—within ourselves and with the world around us. Through this blend of wisdom, we craft an experience that transcends borders, inviting you to reflect, renew, and rebirth in harmony with the cycles of life.
Together, we’ll embrace this powerful moment of transformation, stepping into a space where all spiritual paths converge in the pursuit of light and connection.
